How to use it in class
Introduce the activity by talking about moving to a new class and the things that can help a new teacher get to know their pupils.
Encourage children to think about their interests, strengths and how they like to learn.
They can use the three prompts to help write their letter, or choose their own ideas.
For children who find writing difficult, allow them to talk through their ideas with an adult or dictate their responses.
The letters can be passed privately to the receiving teacher, following the school’s usual handover arrangements.
Children should not be required to share sensitive personal information or read their letters aloud.
