Introduction to Leadership and Management – Leading with Head and Heart (Fiona Wickham @teachleadthrive) (New 2026)

EPV Approved Summer Course for Teachers

Course Overview

This course supports teachers in developing confident, reflective and values-driven leadership within Irish primary schools. Grounded in the Looking at Our School framework, it blends emotional intelligence with practical leadership and management skills to support effective, sustainable school improvement.

Participants will explore leadership across key domains including teaching and learning, organisational management and school development, while building the skills needed to lead people, manage change and foster a positive school culture. A strong emphasis is placed on reflective practice, professional identity and developing leadership capacity at all levels.

Through practical tasks, collaborative discussion and school-based application, participants will gain the confidence and clarity to lead with both purpose and authenticity—balancing the “head” and the “heart” of effective leadership.
