How to use the Substitute Teacher Daily Plan
Before the school day
The regular class teacher can complete the key classroom information, school contact details and planned activities.
Include the information a substitute teacher will need to get started, such as the timetable, relevant routines, where materials can be found and any scheduled duties.
During the day
The substitute teacher can follow the timetable and use the classroom information to maintain familiar routines where possible.
The activity column provides space for lesson instructions, independent tasks or notes about resources required.
For handover
The plan can also help organise information when classroom cover is arranged at short notice.
Keep sensitive pupil information separate from the general handover sheet, sharing it only through school-approved, appropriately secure arrangements where necessary.
