Understanding Behaviour Activity

Free ResourcesBehaviour and Relationships

A printable activity for sitting down with a child after something has gone wrong, once everyone has cooled off, and working out together what was going on underneath it.

It is free to download, there is no sign-up, and you can print it as many times as you need. Suitable for all classes.

What is inside

  • What happened, in the child’s own words
  • What was happening in the body just before
  • What might have helped at that moment
  • One thing to try next time, agreed together

How to use it in class

Use it later the same day or the next morning, never in the heat of it. Filling it in beside the child rather than across a desk from them changes the whole tone, and it is the last box that matters, because it gives you both something concrete to point back to.
