Canva Education is free for eligible teachers, with no trial period. It includes premium fonts, images and graphics, plus templates for worksheets, posters and slides.
I use Canva for classroom resources, and it’s worth trying a few of the tools. You can remove image backgrounds, resize a design for other formats, and use Learn Grid to search teaching resources by subject. We design our free classroom resources in Canva too.

Two of our free resources, both designed in Canva.
Who qualifies?
Canva says the following people qualify:
- Certified teachers currently teaching at accredited schools
- Certified school librarians
- Certified learning support teachers
Canva decides who qualifies. Check its rules first at canva.com/education/eligibility-guidelines. Don’t assume that a particular Irish school type or document will qualify. Canva’s eligibility rules are the place to check.
How to sign up
- Go to canva.com/education/teachers.
- Use a school email, or upload proof that you teach.
- Canva reviews uploads within 48 hours.
That’s the sign-up process. If you’re unsure whether you qualify, check Canva’s rules before applying.
